European Council of Steiner Waldorf Education

Annual Report 2025

The European Council for Steiner Waldorf Education (ECSWE) is an international non-profit organisation (AISBL). It brings together 28 national associations, representing over 800 Steiner Waldorf schools across Europe. Our mission is to support Steiner Waldorf education and promote freedom in education at the European level.

In 2025, ECSWE continued to expand its impact through EU support and strong collaboration with its members and partners. We advanced work on sustainability and green education and on a curriculum framework. We disseminated the results of the HERMMES project, our EU co-funded project on media education and planned further development in this field. We collaborated with European Commission, Council of Europe, UNESCO, and other organisations in the field of teacher education. Our members’ active contributions to council meetings, project development, and advocacy efforts strengthened our collective voice at national and European levels.

Many thanks to all our members, friends, and partners for another successful and enriching year.
