The European Commission approves our operating grant for 2024
On the 2nd of April, the European Commission transferred to us the first instalment of €112.000 to co-fund our annual work plan for 2024 as a result of our successful grant application.
The approved total funding for our 2024 work plan is €140.000
2024 is the second of three years covered within the current operational grants programme for international civil society organisations offered by the European Union. After the successful implementation of our 2023 work plan and after submitting a plan for our work in 2024, the EU has awarded us for this year with the total funding volume of €140.000, starting with a first instalment of €112.000. Accordingly, our managing director and our project coordinator attended the official 2024 kick-off meeting hosted by the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) on the 16th of May.
Focusing on curriculum development and sustainability education
Our work plan for 2024 includes five distinct work packages that are largely building on last year’s work. Work packages 1 and 5 cover the management and dissemination of the work plan implementation. Work package 2 focuses on the theme of sustainability, by lowering ECSWE’s own carbon footprint and and by strengthening green education in schools. Building on last year’s feasibility study, work package 3 includes forming a dedicated group of experts working towards a general European framework curriculum for Steiner Waldorf schools.
Engaging our members through trainings and working groups
Work package 4 encompasses the networking and capacity building activities for our members planned for this year. We are organising a training on advocacy, PR, and association management, providing resources for teachers on the EU elections, offering Erasmus+ workshops tailored for teacher and student mobility, enabling structural support for our members in need, strengthening the cooperation between parents and teachers in our schools and internationally, and coordinating our members’ working groups on topics of their interest.
